The Republic of Bulgaria is situated on the Balkan Peninsuala in Southeastern Europe and covers a territory of 111,000 sq. km. To the east it borders on the Black Sea, to the south on Turket and Greece, to the west on the Republic of Macedonia and Yugoslavia, and in the north the River Danube forms the border with Romania. Sofia is the capital city.

Climate: Temperature - snowy winter, warm spring and autumn, hot and sunny summer. The air temperature in summer is usualy 28°-32°C and the sea temperature is up to 26°C.

History: Bulgaria is a country of ancient cultures dating back to 8000 BC. The world's oldest gold treasure, amazing monuments of Tracian and ancient art and culture have been discovered here. The Bulgarian State was founded during the 7th century with name it still bears today.

Language: The official language is Bulgarian but many people speak English and some Russian, German and French is spoken.

Cuisine: Bulgarian cuisine is an exotic combination of oriental, Mediterranean and European cuisine.
